This Week's Loves

July 10, 2015 in This Week's Loves
  • According to Gizmodo, I may be a hipster for loving the look of the Floating Record Vertical Turntable. You know, though, it's so cool that I might just not care :). It was designed by Gramovox to showcase the beauty of records while playing them.

  • Did you guys know that Moleskine makes journals to document life passions? For instance, the beer journal.

  • As the title suggests, I'm Proud of You, an article by Alexandra Franzen offers a reminder that we should all take the time to tell someone just that.

  • I just learned about The Vinyl Factory, a site discussing all things music and vinyl related. I'm definitely going to be checking back in on this one regularly.

  • For some reason, I am infatuated with Moscow Mules. ...alright, it’s probably because of the super-cool, copper mug that they’re served in. In any case, these three takes on the classic Moscow Mule recipe by A Beautiful Mess look gorgeous and delicious! We tackled the smashed cherry version last weekend and it was amazing!

  • Designer Lee John Phillips is dedicating himself to the incredibly ambitious task of illustrating every object in his late grandfather’s shed. Phillips predicts that The Shed Project will take 5 years to complete and will consist of over 100,000 drawings. His progress can be tracked on Instagram using #theshedproject. ...what a lovely way to honor a loved one. (via Quipsologies)

  • I love the relaxing, muted tones and beautifully subtle texture employed in this Andrew Bird concert poster by Mike DeKay for design firm Grain & Mortar. ...on a related note, Grain & Mortar has a pretty sick website.

  • Designer Billy French just launched a new portfolio website. The animated elements highlighting the featured homepage project — his Bloodlines playing cards — are insanely awesome!
