She layered the table with gorgeous fabrics, adorned it with lush roses, baked and painstakingly arranged towers of sweets upon it, and decked it with fine china. She lavished it with her time and attention — a little piece of her heart and soul. And, here it is — her creation — dripping wet with the rain from an unexpected storm. But, despite how dire the soggy state of the table may sound, it still manages to weather the storm quite well — even gracefully.
There is no perfect time to accomplish something wonderful. There could always be a flaw in our plans or an unexpected and uncontrollable danger waiting to sabotage our ideas. No one can predict the future and, of course, things could always go wrong. But, then again, things could go right as well. Things could go right even if something terrible does happen. And, if we don't at least try to make something lovely happen, perhaps nothing will ever happen at all — at least nothing we want to happen, anyway.
Sometimes we have to decide to do something and just go out and do it — make no excuses. We have to do it for ourselves! We have to do it because we know that it could be the best thing we've ever done! We have to do it despite what everyone else may think or say. We have to do it despite the fact that something could go wrong.
If we truly commit ourselves to accomplishing our goals, cast aside what others may think, and just do what we need to do for ourselves, we can weather even the most torrential of metaphorical — or actual — downpours. And, on top of that, we can do so beautifully.
