Since my last post was kind of deep, I wanted to share something a bit more lighthearted today — a moment of design-induced delight contained within the New Jumo Concept website. New Jumo Concept is a company that specializes in creating a lamp that they’ve christened the Jumo Classique. According to the site, it’s a modern reedition of the historic Jumo lamp originally designed in 1944 by the Société Nouvelle des Etablissements JUMO.
As well as providing an instance of bliss through its clever use of functionality, the New Jumo Concept website features a slick and elegant look that harkens back to the design sensibilities of the 1940s. This, combined with flat design, modern typefaces, and of-the-moment web design techniques lends the site that much coveted contemporary-classic feel — old-school cool at its finest.
I won’t spoil the surprise for you here, so — to experience the delight for yourself — head over to the New Jumo Concept website and scroll! :)
