Back in the days of Google Reader, I had quite the blogroll set up. The trusty service neatly organized my fashion blogs and my graphic design blogs, my interior design blogs and my package design blogs, my… Well, you get the picture; I followed a lot of blogs. My list of reading even included a category for stationery blogs. Parcel Post, the blog associated with Urbanic Paper Boutique, was one of them and I loved it!
Somehow, after the demise of Google Reader, though, I lost most of the blogs on my beloved blogroll. Perhaps, it was because I disregarded all the warnings that Google Reader would soon be discontinued and that I should, therefore, import my blogroll into another reader service, but — you know — who’s to say... Unfortunately, Parcel Post was one that went by the wayside.
Anyway, thankfully, through their enchanting Instagram account, I have been reunited with Urbanic’s Parcel Post blog. And, I must say, it’s good! So good that I’m sharing it with you in a new series called Blog Spotlight!
Urbanic Paper Boutique is the creation of husband-and-wife team Audrey and Joshua Woollen. They began the endeavor after embarking on a quest to find wedding invitations that were as “unique and rare as their relationship” — a task that I’m sure is undertaken by most soon-to-be-wed couples. But, instead of accomplishing success, they realized just how difficult this endeavor could be.
Rather than playing by the antiquated wedding stationery rulebook, (I’m assuming that’s a real thing), they decided to take action by designing their own invitations! This eventually manifested into a line of cards and invitations. In 2006, they became full-blown members of the stationery community by opening a brick-and-mortar shop in Los Angeles. Now, their storefront and online shop boast “a curated collection of letterpressed greeting cards, stylish papers, modern gifts, desk accessories, wedding invitations and custom stationery.”
The Parcel Post blog, meanwhile, notifies readers of new Urbanic inventory, offers commentary on current stationery designs and trends within the industry, and, occasionally, takes a glimpse into the lives of owners Audrey and Joshua. The design of the blog itself and the imagery within each post is lively, colorful, and beautiful. Its content is sweet, but not saccharine and quirky, yet elegant. It’s just the kind of stuff that equals happiness! Definitely check it out!
