I had high hopes of filling today's post with the multitude of photos that I took over the weekend. There were photos of the newly fallen snow, our beautifully decorated Christmas tree, and our hallway decorations. After scrolling through the pictures on my trusty, little point-and-shoot, I even pondered turning a particularly lovely shot of a Christmas ornament into a free desktop wallpaper to share on Studio One-Sixteen!
Unfortunately, after opening the photos in Photoshop, I realized that most of them were ridiculously blurry. I mean, even Photoshop couldn't make these babies blog-worthy... I guess I'll have to start saving for a higher quality camera ASAP...
In the meantime, I thought I'd share at least one of my many snapshots with you. Even after some intense Photoshop doctoring, it isn't the best of images, but it gets the point across. It shows the results of a little project I completed over the weekend.
As a sidenote, I found that awesome star decoration at Pier One. It was definitely worth getting glitter everywhere — on my clothes, in my car, on my carpet, etc. — to display it for the holidays! But, the real story of this post is the "Yule Love This" print. It's clever saying and striking, red color make a statement. I think it also goes quite nicely with my sparkly Pier One star!
So, why is the print the story of this post? Well, it was a complete and utter design hack! ...I disassembled a shipping bag from Aerie, saved the side with the "Yule Love This" type and mounted it on some foam core! And, there you have it, instant — and relatively free — art! Love it! Of course, it helps that Aerie has some kick-ass branding going on right now! It's pretty fantastic!
