This gorgeous video details the process of a personal project by graphic designer and letterer Dana Tanamachi. The project is entitled "Flourish" and it's amazing! Using a gold paint pen on a dark wall, Tanamachi hand-draws fraktur letterforms filled with intricate, Japanese-inspired patterns to spell out the word "Flourish."
I love how the Japanese-inspired patterns lend a softer feel to the fraktur letterforms that can sometimes seen harsh due to their sharp, angular forms. I also love how the gold paint pen illuminates the letters on the dark wall.
