"...and a funny thing happens about the time you turn twenty-five. People start asking about marriage and kids and houses. And you begin to worry about savings, retirement, and health insurance. You start spending your money on plates.pots.new tires. [...] And sometimes you start to compare your 25 years with everyone else’s. You wonder if you’re on the right track because it’s different from all the people you’re surrounded by. You start going to your friends’ weddings and buying baby gifts for second birthdays. And suddenly you realize you’re at the exact age that seemed so far away just five years ago."

College Fashion pointed me in the direction of the article from which the quote above was taken. The article is entitled "Because I'm a Twenty-Something." It was written by Jessica of the Today Was Meaningful blog.
I'm so glad I found it because it speaks to everything I've been feeling lately. ...I'm not 25 quite yet, but I'm definitely starting to feel the pressure from others to conform to their expectations for my life. Sometimes it's tough to remember that it's ok to be different. It's even tougher when others insinuate that you're doing something wrong with your life if you don't fit the mold.
Lately, I've been letting myself be bothered by the pressure placed on me by others. But, from now on, I'm going to make a conscious decision to be ok with myself, my life choices, and the path that I'm on. After all, it's my life; not anyone else's. I hope you'll do the same!
